The Word Is Alive.
There is no greater treasure than to hold the Word of God in our hands and our hearts. When we do, we are filled with life, because truly the Bible is The living Word.Because God’s Word is the measure of all truth, we should search the Scriptures daily to keep our faith strong in the knowledge of the Word.
A Surgical Instrument.
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of thoughts and intents of the heart” ( Hebrews 4 : 12 ). The Word of God is alive!
“Leap From The Pages or “Come Alive”
I have heard people talk about books as if they were alive . They speak of how words “leap from the pages ” or how concepts they read “come alive” as they read them. Ofcourse, we all understand that when people say these things, they are not speaking in literal terms, but rather describing how they felt as they read.
Life Printed On The Pages.
However, when we read the pages of the Scripture, we understand there is a transcendent truth and power inherent in the recorded words. There is life printed on the pages of the Bible. The words recorded have power to change us if we desire to be changed. The verses we read have the ability to breathe life into our souls.
In fact, it’s not just temporal life or inspiration life we find in the Scriptures, but eternal if we believe. “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me”( John 5:39). For truly the Bible is the Word of God, and the words that came from the mouth of Jesus Christ are words of life.
“It is the Spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are Spirit, and they are life”(John 6:63).
