But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word are reserved for fire until the day of judgement and perdition of ungodly men.
2 Peter 3 : 7.
Good Steward
Climate change Global warming are not written and discussed in the Scriptures however there are teachings that’s applies to facts that are happening in the world. It’s our responsibility to take care of the earth as God’s good stewards.
Global Warming.
It’s a huge phenomenon in today’s modern world .Many people including Christians are having debates as to whether global warming is real and happening. However here Peter says that the world will eventually be burned, it’s happening in real time all over the world.
But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heaven will disappear with a roar the element will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare.
2 Peter 3:10. Peter informing us.
Is there a Difference between Climate Change and Global Warming?
YES, there is, global warming is clearly different from climate change they are not the same. NASA said climate change “ “encompasses global warming, but refers to the broader range of changes that are happening to the planet including the rising sea levels shrinking mountain glacier accelerating ice melt in Greenland,Antarctica and Artic ; shifts in flower/plant blooming”.
Likewise NASA describes global warming as “the long-term heating of the Earth’s climate system observed since the Pre-industrial period (1850 and 1900 ) due to human activities primarily fossil fuel burning increases heat-trapping greenhouse gas levels in the Earth’s atmosphere. “
Mankind at Fault.
Looking at the definition by NASA ( National Aeronautics and Space Administration) It’s clearly mankind fault why we are experiencing global warming. Some people, divided on whether it’s our fault or denying climate change is not responsible for the changes in the earth ,its God destroying this world to make a new one. Whether we are experiencing global warming or not it’s up for debate; It’s very important that believers pay attention to the happenings and interpret the scriptures rightly dividing the Word of God in the proper context.
Is Global warming Destructive to the Earth,?
YES, whether you believe in global warming or because It’s not written in the Bible. 2 Peter 3: 7-10 speaks of the things that are happening. Temperature, melting ice caps, increased drought, increased wild fires, increased health problems, massive heat waves in urban cities and rural area. These are the facts, earth is decaying.
God Over Science ?
Many believers believe you have to choose God over Science, God is compatible with science because God invented everything. You can still be a Christian, respect science and be good stewards. It is our responsibility as creations of God to care for this Earth in the best way we can. ” The Lord God then took the man and settled him in the garden of Eden,to cultivate and care for it.” (Genesis 2 :15 ).
We need more of this! I have not heard a religious person make these connections! Excellent post!

I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought (1 Corinthians 1:10).
As believer God wants us to stand together in unity. Each and everyone may have a different opinion about global warming, but no one should be condemn for their opinion.
Whether we want to believe in climate change or global warming, its definitely happening around the world. As a believer its not hard to see that the words spoken are coming to pass. The bible tells us this world will be destroy by fire, as it get hotter and hotter. The destruction of this planet will be within God’s plan according to the bible.
I LOVE THIS!!!!!!
Bless your heart! well said, written with conviction and powerful. Thanks for sharing
I told a pastor here when the highest temperature ever recorded was recently experienced by the world, that this may be the elements will melt away as spoken by Peter in his epistle and he refuted it. However, I thank the Church of Uganda that has made Genesis 2:15(15The LORD God then took the man and settled him in the garden of Eden, to cultivate and care for.) theme of the year, having acknowledged that man is responsible for global warming and climate change and is equal responsible for fixing it, since man was given the responsibility of caring for his environment by God. So the church leaders have appealed to every Christian to take good care of the environment.
Great comments and glad to hear you are a believer too.God bless you and family.
