Placed In The Garden To Pay Attention Protect and Preserve.

And God blessed them , and God said unto them, Be fruitful and multiply, replenish the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air,and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”( Genesis 1:28 )

Human Role In The Environment. A number of responsibilities are given to the first human to be fruitful and increase the human race .He was given stewardship and ruler òf all the creatures in the sea, air and land

” And the LORD God took the man,and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it” (Genesis 2:15)

The Environment: Adam here is given the responsibility of stewardship of the environment including the garden of Eden his job is to take care of, protect, watch over, pay attention, preserve the environment. We likewise have the responsibility to take care of the environment, the government should be held accountable for the abuse and exploiting of natural resources, pollution poisons the air and water, toxic waste ,wild life, species extinction, wild bush fires, change in temperature and rainfall ,record breaking heat wave, earth surface warms away over the years.

Respiratory infections, asthma attacks, heart attacks, lung cancer, skin cancer, emphysema childhood illness, strokes, severe underline illness in the elderly gets worse due pollution of the air, water and toxic waste, fossil fuel. People and animals are dying.

Humans more important than environment. Those who would argue this are so very wrong. How can we focus on meeting human needs more than addressing the environmental issues when many human illness and needs are caused by environmental issues. Preservation and conservation of the non human part of the environment is important to all human. Human is an important part of the environment However we should note that the environment will survive without us but we can’t survive without the environment. So it’s in our best interest to pay attention and take care of the environment.

Spreading of the gospel more important. Some Christians would argue that their God-given tasks is more important than the environment and climate change .The spreading the gospel, seeking the lost souls ,regular attendance at the assembly to worship God, meet and greet that’s the Christian’s duty. This is so very wrong. God created the creation with the intention for mankind to take care of,protect and preserve it . I would suggest they read Genesis 1:28 and Genesis 2:15 and find out God’s position on the environment.

The Bible does have several teachings that’s applicable to today’s environmental issues The important thing is that the interpretation of the teachings are done in çontext and relevant to modern times.God is concerned and interested in the physical and spiritual worlds. Neglecting the environment is failure to do the job of a steward the scripture saysBeloved I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prosper “( 3 John 1:2 ).

Psalm 24:1-2 “The earth is the Lord′s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for he founded it upon the seas and established it upon the waters.”

Taking care of God’s creation and sustaining can be considered as a form of worship. We don’t want to forgot our task of sharing the good news of Christ redeeming work in our lives, but we should not neglect our as as gardeners to the earth. Caring for the earth is apart of our responsibility as God servants and our service to God. As children of God we do alot to protect God’s creation without knowing it, such as conserving on energy and reducing our waste. These does not interfere with our witness to unbelievers, it rather open opportunity for us to spread the good news and show how much we love God.

All the earth bows down to you; they sing praise to you, they sing the praises of your name.” – Psalm 66:4
