“For I know that in me ( that’s in my flesh ) dwelleth no good thing for to will is present with me but how to perform that which is good I find not” .( Romans 7: 18). Paul here was defining the source of most spiritual conflict has to do with human nature.
As long as we live as human beings we will face temptation and have to deal with spiritual conflicts. Most of our conflicts stems from the old adamic sinful nature. But we can have victory over human lusts and desires that does not align with a Spiritual lifestyle as Christians. We can bring our human nature into subjection of the Holy Spirit. We do not have to live in defeat discouragement,condemnation,frustration.
” There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus,who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death “(Romans 8 : 1-2)
Romans 8:1 Should be the battle cry of every Christian ! There is no condemnation to those who live in Jesus Christ and strive to walk in His will , following the guidance of the Holy Spirit . Life lived in the Spirit opens to us the way of righteousness, peace and joy, truly the abundant life of which Jesus Christ spoke.
Ancient Conflicts in modern world,some of the issues we are facing now seem as if they are unique and new to today’s world but they are not. For instance murder and suicide that seem to be one of Satan’s newest campaigns against the value of human lives. This he started from the earliest days of human existence Adam and Eve. First family of mankind.
Because of Adam and Eve disobedience to God’s instructions as to which tree they should not eat of God evicted them from the Garden of Eden.
The first family of mankind, had hardly left the Garden of Eden before the first murder took place.Both brothers were in the field together, Cain, older one a farmer and Abel a shepherd. Apparently they had a conversation which erupted into violence of murder.Cain may have had some sort of underline issue in his heart against Abel,satan then entered into his heart to kill his only brother.
Murder in the field ” And Cain talked with Abel his brother ; and it came to pass when they were in the field that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and slew him.” ( Genesis 4:8 ).
Immediately,Cain was brought to trial God Himself presided as the judge in the first murder trial of human history. He placed a severe sentence upon Cain, a Curse mark for life and a fugitive.
In Genesis 9:6 God revealed why He placed such severe punishment on those who take another human life.”Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed : for in the image of God made He man”.
Since God has loved and placed such value on our lives we too should value human lives and do all that’s possible to protect it. Let’s not forget we were created in the image of God we live and breathe through Him.
The value of human life has been eroded away in today’s modern society.Many people don’t value their own lives anymore and are becoming their own victims,suicide one of the major causes of death among teenagers globally. Coming next suicide.
Everyone’s live is a gift from God. He cherishes every life on earth and we should honor His gift by cherishing our own life as well as the life of others. We are all precious in His sight, and if we trust in God and diligent to fulfil His will in our life choices, we can be the light in this world.
