Yes , ordinary people doing, what they can in Christ name can bring about great results. Ordinary people can have great influence upon individuals and society. Jocebed the mother of Moses, for example, devised a plan to keep her baby boy from being killed by the Egyptian authorities. As a result, her child grew up and became Israels’ great emancipator and lawgiver. Mordecai was a servant in the palace during the Jewish exile in Persia. When he learned of a plot to kill the king ,reported it and saved his nation from extinction. (Esther 2 :21-23)
An ordinary man of God an obscure hermit who was deeply disturbed by the horrors of the gladiatorial games decided to do something about it . So one day he joined over 80,000 spectators in the stands . Suddenly he left his seat, ran into the arena, stepped between the fighters. The onlookers roared their disapproval, a command rang out and he was killed on the spot. But his death was not in vain . When the word started to spread that he was the hermit the devout man of God ,protesting this cruel and barbaric sports , a hush fell over the huge stadium and many felt a deep sense of shame. That was the last gladiator contest in the Roman Empire.
Let’s not think for one minute that it is only gifted or well known people can make great impact for God and in Society. God blesses the efforts of ordinary people who are faithful in serving Him. Any believer can witness to a neighbor,pray for someone or show kindness to the needy . Ministering to just one person has eartly and eternal results,for He or she in turn may win many others to the Saviour of the world.
God chooses the base and small things to do mighty things.You can be too big for God to use but never too small. Yes, ordinary people,doing what they can in the name of Christ,can bring tremendous results.

Great Ananolgy With The Gladiators

“The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, the Lord looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7. God is not not like man, he judges us by our faith and what’s in our heart. God wants the world to know His great love of each of us, not matter out background, looks, education etc.. He wants us to know salvation is his plan alone and not man. No efforts of our own, so if we feel unqualified, unworthy we have the qualification God is looking for. Look at Paul, he was a persecutor of Christians. HE was determined to destroy Christianity. Then on is way to Damascus he had an encounter with God. God then use is Paul training as a Pharisee and determination to transform him into a great preacher of the gospel. When Paul came intact with God he was completely changed. It will be the same for any ordinary person that God choses to use for His purpose. We just need to say “yes, surrender, listen, learn and draw closer to Him. He will take our faithful hearts and do extraordinary things.
